French Vintage Alsatian Blue Sandstone Bowl (circa 1930)

Handmade in Alsace in the 1930s, this sandstone bowl is finished with the region’s signature blue glaze—a hue that has become emblematic of Alsatian pottery. The smooth, rounded form carries both utility and quiet elegance, once used in rural kitchens and now appreciated as a sculptural accent for contemporary interiors.

Its surface shows subtle variations in glaze and patina, each mark a record of time and use. Beautiful styled on its own, as part of a cluster, or as a vessel for fruit, salads or everyday treasures. While glazed pieces may hold water, we recommend using a liner to protect the finish when displaying fresh stems for a longer period of time.
